Tea Party is Over. They won nothing, they cost the economy 24 billion in those few days. I do wish it was over, but some of them raised millions from their suckers, it's not over yet, not completely.
Darrel,You are right - the baggers are still going to make noise. The nice part is that nobody in the Republican Party with any sense is listening...Ron
The nice part is that nobody in the Republican Party with any sense is listening...More like, nobody in the Republican Party with any sense
I am not convinced that the Tea Party has been neutered. They believe they won and are more united then ever. Given enough time (a few weeks) for the Republican party to forget the outrage and they will be back walking lock step with the Tea Party leading. After all two thirds of the Republican Congress voted to go over the cliff.the Ol'Buzzard
The people who oppose the president and Democrats in general don't CARE what banner they win under. If a majority of Americans demanded aardvark ownership in order to vote, they'd become the aardvark party. The teabaggers are relevant because the GOP has nothing else to offer the country. There is a hard core base that is DYING to walk away to the third party, but there aren't enough of them to make it work. Remember the GOP autopsy report after the last election? They didn't notice the alien creature inside the Republican Party corpse when they were slicing and dicing. Like in the movie "Alien", it's on the verge of bursting through the chest cavity of a dying host. We'll get to watch the birth of a tiny little noisy terror called The Tea Party. Twenty years from now we'll look back on the GOP with the same vague nostalgia we currently employ to describe the Whigs or Know Nothings. Adios...
I have an entire folder of pics and 'toons heralding the demise of the Republican Party after the 2008 election. Quite moot now ....For, as long as politicians can be bought... so will there be Republicans; busy buying and selling them at whatever the market will bear.
