NOT YOUR TYPICAL GUANO...

It might take something this drastic to change the minds of those who currently side with the NRA on reasonable gun control restrictions.  But then, we've had combat footage and photos from our adventure in Iraq, and there are still a lot of folks who think THAT was a fine idea.

Hard to believe I made it through school, being Ritalin deficient and all...

Darrow is still my favorite lawyer...         And speaking of characters from Inherit the Wind, who can forget this guy:

Played by Gene Kelly in the film, it's hard to miss the comparison with Menchken's reporting from the Scopes Trial in Dayton, Tennessee.

Thank god for love! if that's the definition...

We have not been allowed to see on tv the actual dead coming out of Iraq like we did in Vietnam. So, we are not actually aware of the cost.

Ol' Buzz, quite true. The media isn't even allowed to film and broadcast the remains arriving at Dover AFB unless the Pentagon approves the message.

When you see the flag draped casket, it's usually in conjunction with some patriotic, flag waving theme designed to make tears well up in the eyes of the viewer as The Battle Hymn of the Republic soars in the background.

Might do us good as a nation to see the actual combat footage, shots of the dead, and grief of the comrads who carry him to the evac-chopper. It's all much more sanitary than any video game today.

Pornography offends more people than war does. How fucked up is that? War should be something that offends us all. Showing it in bloody color would help make that a reality.
