CONSERVATIVE'S ARTICLE ON TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE ROLES FOR MEN/WOMEN HILARIOUSLY INCLUDES WEDDING PHOTO OF LESBIANS... ( can't judge a book by its cover? )

Here's one that brought a chuckle to an otherwise dreary evening...  There's an article on Foxnews.com penned by Suzanne Venker (niece of notorious rightwing conservative bloviator Phyllis Schlafly) in which she bemoans the changes feminism has wrought on the traditional marriage roles of men and women.

The article itself is completely forgettable.  In it, Venker whines and pines for the good old days when men wore the pants in the family (and the housewives wore dresses while they baked cookies for their children.)  In her world, all this gender-bending role reversal nonsense is cause for alarm... and she blames feminists for everything from single women eschewing marriage to men pushing their way onto the lifeboats ahead of the women and children as the cruise liner Costa Concordia was sinking last year.

But right there at the top of the article trumpeting the virtues of traditional marriage was this photograph:

At first glance, the photo seems fairly compatible with the article.  But a second glance might make you laugh, because the happy couple in that wedding photo is actually a lesbian pair named Stephanie Figarelle and Lela McArthur.  You can take the link to read their story.

I guess the wizards at Fox News just grabbed any ol' stock wedding photo from the world wide web and posted it along with Venker's story.  I'm surprised they didn't post a shot of Ward and June Cleaver from Leave it to Beaver, because THAT's the traditional marriage Venker and her aunt Phyllis have in mind when they wax nostalgic for the good ol' days.

Apparently, no one at Faux News has discovered this abomination on their website, 'cause it's still up.
