By now, everyone has heard Rep. Todd Akin's absurd remarks about rape and pregnancy. But as ridiculous as his misguided notions concerning the female body's ability to fight off unwanted sperm might be, it turns out that there is a perfectly acceptable graph available explaining his position.
Gee, Rep. Akin, I stand corrected...
One other thing worth noting... all of the cable news networks have devoted an adequate amount of time exposing Akin's theories about rape, pregnancy, and abortion, except one. One cable news network has been strangely silent about the controversy.
Here's a graph (real, this time) that might help you figure out which network has swallowed its tongue when it comes to Rep. Todd Akin's idiocy:
Faux News, Fair and Balanced. Think Rep. Ryan's political affiliation has anything to do with this muted response from the talking heads at Faux?
"They neglect, you decide!"
******************************* UPDATE*************************************
National Republican Senate Committee Chairman John Cornyn (R-Tex) has informed Rep. Akin that the NRSC will not help fund his campaign should he remain in the race for the Senate from Missouri. Akin has already announced his intentions to fight on, despite calls for him to abandon the Republican nomination for Senate.
Conservatives are now distancing themselves from a guy they were holding up as a staunch anti-abortion candidate earlier in the week, and various outside political action groups have announced their intentions to withhold funding if he stays in the race against Sen. Claire McKaskill.
The fact remains that this clown is a sitting member of Congress, with a seat on the House Science and Tech Committee. Unbelievable.

Squat. I have waited until my blood pressure abated to something below 300 to comment on this asshole's ignorant, hateful remarks.
I guess that my body must have implemented that device or method he spoke of when I was legitimately raped as a kid. I was one of the lucky ones who didn't get pregnant.
But I can tell you this. After I amazed the scientific community at actually getting pregnant after my rape, there would have been no force on Earth that could have prevented me from aborting whateverthefuck would have been that was planted by my rapist.
Jesus fucking Christ people. Why are you electing these bigoted assholes?
You must be equipped with one of those chaf/flare defense mechanisms, Mooner.
Trying to shame these trolls by pointing out the idiocy of their various candidates is a waste of time. All they care about is the letter that follows the candidates name. If it's an "R", that individual is a useful idiot they tolerate for the "greater good".
Hard to figure how anyone could support such a moron for a national race, but he's already a member of Congress. The "Show Me" state should show this guy the door.
The War on Women just heated up again...
Squaltlo,
Everytime these misguided zealots who forget that women were given the vote years ago open their traps and utter shit like Akin just did - that helps insure that Democrats gain seats in Congress and Obama gets another term.
Did you see how quick Romney etal was to distance themselves and even rebuke Akin?
Ron
Some people are just too stupid to keep their mouth shut. This guy is a Class A F'ing Moron who, apparently, failed health class. I seriously do not understand how people with this little comprehension of life actually get anywhere, much less voted into political positions where they "represent the people". I cannot tell you how much the entire right's view on women's issues pisses me off. And the females that support them are just as stupid, following along side their men like sheep, giving no consideration for anyone but their own self-righteous asses. Ugh!
Gee, Aimee, I wish you'd stop beating around the bush and just say what you're thinking! Spit it out, girl!
For what it's worth, Akin hasn't dropped in the polls in MIssouri since this hit the fan, it's still a statistical tie.
He's done is public mea culpas, and batted the puppy eyes at the cameras asking for forgiveness.
As soon as the GOP realizes he's too egotistical to drop out of the race (he has until this afternoon, legally) they'll jump back in and support him with campaign cash in order to try to take the Senate seat in November.
If you've ever seen the movie "Inherit the Wind" it sort of defines my opinion of the religious right. Sanctimonious Bible thumping morons, the lot of them, living in their own little flat-earth world (and it's only 6,000 years old! and men domesticated dinosaurs! and the Flintstones was a documentary!)
Truly pathetic.
