I read (somewhere on my vacation) a piece asking everyone to encourage those who cannot get voter ID to go to the polls and try to vote, engage the poll workers and slow the process. The public needs to see those who are being denied are not scary Mexican women or robed Muslims, but mostly regular people, usually old and poor. My brother and sister were born at home on the farm with neighbors helping, if my dad had not gone to a doctor to ask him to do the birth form they would not be able to vote now. Actually they vote GOP, so I have mixed feelings there.
I voted Saturday on the last day of early voting here in Tenn, and of course they requested my photo ID as per the new law. I had already handed the little old lady my OFFICIAL voter registration card, but the law's the law.
I can't wait for the first instance where some grizzled 90 year old vet is turned away because he no longer has a drivers license, then comes back to the polls with a firearm.
yeah, Theo, I'm single-handedly pushing the Romney "Mittish are Coming" meme... and I guess everyone else thinks his trip to Britain was a roaring success. As Ann Coulter said of the Iraq war, "It's going swimmingly!"
Get a clue... it was public relations nightmare from start to finish.
